#Rolex #Selection Featuring 2pac -watch of the day #OysterQuartz

Yes, Yes, even Rolex joined the quartz movement

Rolex may be known for their precise and reliable mechanical movements, yet there was a time when the Swiss watchmaking company got on board with the quartz craze during what is now referred to as the “quartz crisis” era.

In the early 1970s and 1980s, the trend in the watchmaking business was towards less expensive and more precise quartz calibers rather than more intricate mechanical movements. It was referred to as a crisis because it almost toppled the entire Swiss watchmaking industry with the majority of quartz watches coming out of Japan and the United States. Although there was widespread hesitation to join the quartz bandwagon among Swiss watch manufactures at the time, there were a few top watch brands, including Rolex that introduced their own quartz watches. Here we take a closer look at the development and evolution of the Rolex Oysterquartz.

#ASAPRocky's #Swedish #Lawyer #Shot in #Head and #Chest in #Stockholm

Swedish lawyer Henrik Olssen Lilja, who first represented ASAP Rocky during his assault case in the nation, has been injured in a Stockholm shooting.

As Forbes reports, Lilja was shot in the chest and head on Friday by an unnamed male assailant. Lilja reportedly called the police himself and was promptly taken to a hospital. Police have since arrested several suspects for questioning, although as of right now it's being treated as an isolated incident. Witnesses claim to have seen a person attack the lawyer and wrestle him to the ground in a stairwell shortly before he was shot at least twice.

One of the people brought in for questioning is a senior lawyer who was previously banned from contacting Lilja, although it's not clear why exactly that is. Other witnesses said a black SUV fled the scene with police in pursuit shortly after the shooting. As TMZ added, the incident took place just outside an apartment complex where Lilja is believed to reside.

His current condition is unknown, as is any possible motivation behind the shooting. It is believed that police have yet to capture the man responsible for the attack. Lilja was replaced by another legal team before Rocky's Stockholm trial started. The lawyer has previously represented the likes of Qiao Jianjun, a wanted fugitive in China who has been accused of embezzling millions.

#Oakland #chef wins on Food Network's ‘Chopped'

 - A celebration party brought people out to toast a rising star in Oakland's restaurant scene Friday night.
Chef Rashad Armstead, 31, was savoring his new fame after appearing on the Food Network show "Chopped".
Armstead hosted family and a crowd of friends and guests at the Overlook rooftop venue near Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland.
His cooking is a combination of his own creations and old family recipes.

Chef Rashad was owner of the popular popup called Crave BBQ and then opened a restaurant called Grammies Down Home Cooking on Market Street in North Oakland. It is named after his great grandmother Sarah Rawls who was a Bay Area cook and business woman.
"She was opening up restaurants running them all by herself. from Oakland, San Jose, East Palo Alto, Berkeley," said Armstead.
He said he'd auditioned for cooking shows when he was a teenager, but never made it past the third round. This year, though, he got an unexpected email.
"I got an email in February. They said they'd heard about the popup we were doing with Crave and did I want to audition?"
He did audition and made it all the way to the "Chopped" taping in May.
The timing couldn't have been better. He said he'd been on the verge of throwing in the towel.
"I was ready to give up. I was ready to turn in my towel and just say I'm going to find another career," said Armstead.
After the episode taping, he couldn't tell anyone what had happened, including his family.
On Tuesday, they watched it together and learned that Armstead had won.
"I was a bucket of tears. I was so overwhelmed. Oh, it was amazing. I told my husband, if I didn't do anything right. I know I raised him right," said his mother Cecilia Armstead.
"When we’d seen the show. we were like, all that hard work, all that perseverance, it paid off," said his father Roy Armstead.
"I was going through a lot of hard times in my personal life and it was one of those things that said, you're meant to do this," said Chef Rashad
Now, this champion chef is cooking up bigger plans.
He hopes to open a second restaurant in Richmond and is launching an Indie-Gogo community crowdfunding effort to help hire and mentor people in the community.
"I believe in hiring young people, like you see my kitchen is full of a bunch of young adults listening to hear me scream and getting stuff done," said Chef Rashad, "The best thing I can think of is by helping somebody else find out what they're supposed to be doing. That warms my heart more than money."

#YOUNGDRO #PUDDINGPOPPED #Arrested For Attacking GF W/ Banana #Dessert

YOUNG DRO arrested in Georgia for weaponizing banana pudding.
Young Dro was arrested on July 5 for allegedly throwing a plate of banana pudding at his girlfriend during an argument at their Atlanta-area home.

We're told the two had been arguing over money -- but things got heated and the food started flying ... with both sides launching whatever delicious items they could find at each other.

Cops were called to the scene -- and despite the fact his GF made it clear she didn't want to press charges, they arrested Dro anyway.

He's now facing 2 counts of misdemeanor battery/family violence.

He's still in jail too -- according to law enforcement sources -- because he's also being held on a child support contempt order. The legal docs say he owes almost $41k in back child support, and needs to pay $10k to be released from custody.

Our Young Dro sources say the child support case involves another baby mama -- not his current GF who he had the pudding spat with -- and the rapper claims he's all paid up ... so it's a clerical error.

SAUCYTALK : ROC NATION 1 #elgmuzikgrewp #ROCNATION #MUSTSEE (Ceo informant)

Dame Dash recently called Jay Z a police informant. Know why? Because, Dame saw court transcripts revealing that Shawn “Jay Z” Carter’s current business partner, Desiree Perez, cooperated with DEA agents on numerous occasions.

Court transcripts shows Perez wore a wire to bust Colombians moving cocaine shipments of 50 to 100 kilograms.

Perez’s father, Epifiano Gonzalez, owns 50% of the 40/40 club in Las Vegas, and Desiree is a part of Rihanna’s management team.

Here’s Florida Panthers executive Michael Yormark praising Desiree Perez:

“I am honored and humbled to be joining Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports as President and Chief Strategy Officer. I am thrilled to join an exciting, innovative organization led by Desiree and Juan Perez.”

Here’s excerpts from Desiree Perez’s court transcripts:

“Perez was a 26-year-old mother of young children in 1994 when she was arrested in New York for possession with intent to distribute 35 kilograms of cocaine.

Perez has really worked closely with agents, assistant U.S. Attorney Laurence Bardfeld told a judge that day, arguing to keep Perez out of jail.

Miami-based defense attorney Alan Ross told the judge that his client wore a wire on no less than the four or five occasions when she’s been down there in Puerto Rico.

‘And I think the court knows from its experience that you just can’t do anything more dangerous than wear a wire and go into an undercover meeting in Puerto Rico with a known violator, one whose (sic) suspected of — or being investigated for — a murder case down there.

Perez helped DEA special agents she worked with to bust Colombians moving cocaine shipments of 50 to 100 kilograms.

She has gone the extra mile.’

Perez was released that July and placed on five years of supervised release. She began working at nightspots in Miami Beach and was scheduled to meet her probation officer at one of them, Club Onyx, when she skipped town without notice in early August 1997.

The fugitive resurfaced nine month later in Brooklyn, where she was arrested on March 5, 1998. Perez was charged with grand larceny, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm.

Her probation was revoked and she was sentenced to nine months in prison and three years of supervised release.

Perez appears to have been in business with Jay Z since at least 2002.”
